Privacy notice

What we collect when you get in touch, why we use it, who sees it, and the rights you have over it. In plain English.

Who we are

This notice explains how Supercar Factory Ltd ("we", "us") uses personal information collected through this website. We are the controller of that information, which means we decide how it is used and we are responsible for looking after it.

What we collect

We only collect what you choose to give us. There are two ways that happens.

Through the "Schedule a consultation" box. When you send an enquiry we receive:

  • your name, company and work email address
  • your phone number and job title, if you choose to add them
  • the topics you ticked, and anything you write in the message field

When you email us directly. We receive your email address, your name as it appears in your email, and whatever you choose to include in the message and any attachments.

Simply browsing this website does not give us any information about you. We do not use analytics, tracking or advertising tools, and we do not ask for any sensitive information. Please do not include it in an enquiry.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

We use your information to reply to your enquiry, to discuss whether and how we could work together, and to keep a record of that conversation.

Data protection law requires us to have a lawful basis for this. Ours is legitimate interests: we have a genuine business interest in responding to people who contact us about our services, and you would reasonably expect us to use your details to reply. Where you contact us as a sole trader or on your own behalf about entering into a contract with us, we also rely on the basis that the processing is necessary to take steps before entering into a contract at your request.

We will not add you to a mailing list or send you marketing because you made an enquiry. We will never sell your information.

Who we share it with

Your information is seen by the Supercar Factory team who need it to respond to you. We also use a small number of trusted service providers who handle it on our behalf and only on our instructions:

  • Our email provider, which stores the emails and enquiries we receive.
  • Our enquiry form service, which passes enquiries made through the website form to our email. It does not keep a copy for its own purposes.
  • Our website hosting provider, which runs the servers this website sits on.

We may also share information with our professional advisers (such as lawyers or accountants) where needed, or where the law requires us to, for example in response to a court order.

International transfers

Some of our service providers may store or process information outside the UK. Where that happens, we make sure it is protected to the standard required by UK law, either because the country has been recognised by the UK as providing adequate protection, or by using the safeguards approved by the Information Commissioner's Office, such as the International Data Transfer Agreement.

How long we keep it

SituationHow long
An enquiry that does not lead to workUp to 2 years from our last contact with you, then deleted.
An enquiry that leads to a projectFor as long as we work together, then up to 6 years afterwards, so we can meet our legal, tax and contractual obligations.

You can ask us to delete your information sooner. See "Your rights" below.

  • access the personal information we hold about you and get a copy of it
  • ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete
